Morally Improv-erished got a short article in their Capital City Weekly about their trip to Hawaii to perform in Improvaganza!  Congrats - We are happy to have you with us!

We’ve created a Google Map with places that might be of interest to our performers, especially those visiting us from other states.  Most of them are located in the China Town area near the performance locations. We hope this helps!

We haven’t posted in a while. Sorry about that. But really we are working on getting things ready for the festival. The wristbands have come in, so have the fliers. Tonight we’re working on the T-shirts & buttons.  

Also we are having an Improvaganza pre-view night for press on Saturday, September 3rd featuring 3 of the local groups.  If you are in Honolulu please attend.  We hope that this will generate interest in the festival!! 

On Saturday, September 3, On The Spot presents IMPROVAGANZA PREVIEW NIGHT, at 8:00pm at The ARTS at Marks Garage. This evening will be a sneak preview of acts to be featured at the upcoming 6th Annual Improvaganza! 2011 Hawaii Festival of Improv to be held on Friday, September 23 & Saturday, September 24. The September 3 preview show will feature Something Classy, Chocolate Squirrel, and On the Spot (who will be performing their… critically acclaimed live action silent movie show “HUSH”).

After the performances, press and audience members are invited to stay for an exclusive meet and greet with some of the performers and production staff that will be involved with this year’s Improvaganza! festival. There will be a photo opportunity with the performers and refreshments will be served.

“Improvaganza Preview Night” plays Saturday, September 3, at 8:00pm at The ARTS at Marks Garage. Tickets are $15 general and $10 for students w/ ID and are available at the door one hour before show time. Advance tickets are available at www.brownpapertickets.com or by calling 1-800-838-3006. The ARTS at Marks Garage is located at 1159 Nu‘uanu Ave. on the corner of Nu‘uanu and Pauahi Street in Downtown Honolulu, one block south of Beretania Street.

Lets keep it up! Remember once the kickstarter ends you won’t be able to get the rewards (like the all access passes or aloha kits) any more!!

It seems you all got our message and kicked it into high gear today! We made it over the hill! We are now at $1,065.00!! That means that we’ve reached 53% of our goal in 6 days! LESS THAN 1 WEEK! That’s exciting!  Thanks to Kristin Firth, Marc Majcher, Genie Joseph, & Jonathan for helping us get there. Oh also thanks to Kim Ip (just incase you didn’t see her posted onto the end of last nights post.)

Now lets get keep going!  Lets make a sprint for the finish line.
Remember that kickstarter is the only place you can get your ALL ACCESS PASSES to the festival.

Also, do any of you local improvisers know any parents of kids who just graduated high school and are looking to throw a grad party?  Well, making a $500 pledge to Improvaganza will help them to throw an awesome party!  With the pledge of $500 they get On The Spot Improv AND Oil In the Alley to perform at thier party plus 2 all access passes to the festival, an Improvaganza t-shirt and more!!! Improvaganza has officially launched our kickstarter** project! From this moment we have 45 days to raise $2000 or more to help fund this year’s festival.
 
Kickstarter is a way for you to get involved with Improvaganza! By pledging your support you can get some very cool swag (buttons, T-shirts, ect) & special festival perks such as access to the after parties, ALL ACCESS PASSES to the shows (no waiting & no extra fees), and we even have an Aloha pack for our out of town guests!
